Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A camp leader of Leda unregistered Rohingya refugee camp also known as ‘Taal’ has been kidnapped last night at around 11:30 PM by a gang of local hoodlums led by Nur Huda of the village nearby the camp.
The victim has been identified as Amir Hussain 55 s/o Alam Shah of Leda Makeshift camp, Teknaf Cox’s Bazar.
“My husband is still under the hostage of hoodlums and no offer has come yet for his release, but I am very anxious for his life” said Mrs. Zubaida, the wife of Amir.
It is informed that Nur Huda, son of Kasim Ali is newly elected member for Ward no. 8 of Leda village and before that he was one of the notorious gangster leader in the area.
“He threatened my husband of killing several times” she said.
According to a reliable source, Nur Huda uses the camp as one of his illegal business centers and doing all kind of illegal businesses inside it such as drug, human trafficking, and gambling. Sometimes Mr. Nur hires sort of long and short guns to robbers who move around the area and to Myanmar’s Arakan the other side of the border as well.
Some of the refugees said, Mr. Nur is a criminal of forcefully making sex-slaves to many young refugee girls who appears in his sights. Because of him, many girls lost their virginity while these poor girls are living without legal protection and their parents are unable to resist them from this kind of sex-hunters.
As a leader of the camp, while Mr. Amir sometimes made complaints against Mr. Nur to concerned authorities for his troublesomeness inside the camp, Mr. Nur raged upon Amir and threatened him to death.
It is still not known the fate of Mr. Amir Hossain under the hostage of gangsters led by Nur Huda, Zubaida added more.
