Buthidaung Correspondent: The township officer of Buthidaung of Sittwe, U Than Shwe has been forcing the Rohingya village administrators to accept the Green Cards in which the’ ethnicity’ is written as Bengalee.
According to sources, the Township officer, U Than Shwe has put pressures on the Rohingya village administrators of 19 villages under Buthidaung Township to receive the Green Card. Due to pressure and threat by the aforementioned officer, about five village administrators have already received the Green Cards in which the ‘ethnicity’ is written as Bengalee, said an elderly man of Buthidaung.
He more added, the rest of the village administrators under Buthidaung are about to receive the cards soon for fearing the threat and pressures on them by the township officer, Than Shwe of Buthidaung. If the village administrators receive the cards first, later the general people of the villages will receive them, it is the strategy of the Officer.
The Township officer also announced on 15th of Feb, 2016 that the 2nd village administrators in every village would be selected soon. That is another strategy of Than Shwe to realize huge amount of money from the villagers who want to be selected as 2nd village administrators on the flattery policy of the Officer of Buthidaung Township, said Kashem from Sein Taung village.
