Burma Times Correspondent: A significant bilateral meeting between the Director General Dr. Wakar Uddin of Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) and the Turkish Prime minster, His Majesty Ahmet Davutuglo was held in Istanbul, Turkey on 15th of April 2016.
According to source, during the hour long summit, it was emphasized on strategic roadmap to bring peace, stability and the rights of Rohingya people in Arakan state, Burma (Myanmar).
The Director General of Arakan Rohingya Union has raised a range of issues faced and facing by the Rohingya people in Arakan state for decades, particularly the human rights issues, IDPs, peace and stability in Arakan.
The issues of security for Rohingya people and the strategic initiatives for engagement with the newly elected Government of Burma (Myanmar) were the agenda of the meeting between Director General of Arakan Rohingya Union and the Prime Minister of Turkey.
The Prime Minister of Turkey also reflected upon His trips made to Arakan in recent years and how deeply He felt to see the pathetic situation of Rohingya people in Arakan.
Dr. Waka Uddin urged the prime Minister of Turkey to extend more necessary supports towards the solution of long standing issues of the Rohingya and expressed deepest gratefulness to the Prime Minister for the continuous tremendous supports and sympathy for the Rohingya people by the Government and the people of Turkey.
